St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Everything they do is centered on their mission: Finding cures. Saving children.® St. Jude freely shares the discoveries they make, so one child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
St. Jude's laboratories may not be in your community but their discoveries are. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80% since they opened in 1962. They won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
The Pittsburgh office of ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital offers opportunities for involvement throughout the Western Pennsylvania region. The fundraising and community awareness events include the Pittsburgh St. Jude Gala, the Pittsburgh St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer, and the Y108 Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon.
